Zine No.6 in the Hato Press Zine Series, 'Bread As' by based artist Lexie Smith is taken from ongoing project that explores how bread has the potential as a social, economic and ecological barometer. 

Lexi Smith is a NY based artist focusing on the medium of bread. A dialectic experiment, Bread on Earth considers its namesake as both metaphor and vital physical substance. These practical and theoretical investigations look at power and ideology in global food ways, and explore bread and grain’s potentials to deliver us perspective and compassion, and their opposites, too.
