No.24 Fiends and Family by Alec McLeish

Fiends and Family is a piece of work made between 2012 and 2018, it shows my friends (my family) at the beginning of Save Southbank, at a turning point in our lives when the long smokey summers were coming to an end. Not just because of the imminent responsibilities of adulthood, but the very space we’d called home was at risk of being redeveloped, and those memories and bonds we now had would no longer be the realities for the younger generation.

– Alec McLeish

Alec McLeish is a London based photographer who predominantly shoots film, with a distinct focus on documentary imagery; studying people and places. After becoming interested in photography at college after his brother's suggestion, Alec studied the medium alongside assisting, developing and refining his craft.

Complimenting the designers and objects we work with in the store with our own publishing and projects is a joy. The relationship between our own work and our selection of product continues to change and evolve, it is a journey.
