Ameland Letter Opener - Enzo Mari, 1962.

Ameland Letter Opener was designed by Enzo Mari in 1967 for Danese Milano, Italy.

The simple letter opener named 'Ameland' is a double-edged paper knife in satin finish stainless steel and is the result of an astute simplification of the manufacturing process.

It is believed that Enzo Mari chose the name "Ameland" due to the resemblance to the ground view of the Dutch North Sea island.

Enzo Mari, was an industrial designer and artist who made simple, beautiful objects, including toys to traffic bollards.
