The Buncheong bowl is handmade in Hoxton, London by the ceramic studio Troy Town. Buncheong ware is a traditional form of Korean stoneware with a blue-green tone which is coated with white slip and hand-decorated using a brush.


Ken and I used to live moments away from Troy Town, and have followed Aaron’s work with the community and Hoxton Gardenware since university. His own collection and pieces are exceptionally well crafted and informed.

Troy Town is a Hoxton-based ceramic studio and workshop dedicated to radical pottery. Founded by artist and ceramicist Aaron Angell in 2014, it provides residencies and workshops for artists, inviting them to explore traditional and innovative pottery techniques. It is the home of Hoxton Gardenware, a youth-led not-for-profit enterprise producing small-batch terracotta gardenware.
